Running in between raindrops in south Florida today, Hillary Clinton made a surprise stop to Miami’s Little Haiti campaign field office to meet with a members of the Haitian community and thank volunteers and supporters.

With a short introduction by Florida Haitian Coalition Director, Cassandra Theramene and Miami Dade Commissioner Jean Monestime,  Clinton address a room full of supporters.

“I think we are stronger together, and I think the diversity of American is a great gift and blessing, I will fight every single day to provide greater opportunities here, in Florida and throughout America, for all people and that includes Haitians, and Haitian Americans.

I want to say that Haiti has been close to my heart for a very long time, and we really feel a sense of connection to Haiti and all of the challenges that Haiti has faced, the continuing terrible consequences of weather, the earthquake in 2010, so I want to be a good partner with the people of Haiti, and as I told Larry, I  want to work with leaders in the Haitian American community to really see the best way to be that good partner. There’s work to be done — more work than any one person can do alone. I’m choking up, I care so much about doing this, and I can’t do any of it unless I win. Let’s make it happen.”

On her way out, Haitian rights advocate Marlane Bastien stopped the presidential candidate and briefly adressesd immigration reform.

Then she went on to a rally in Pembroke Pines where Randi Weingarten warmed up the crowd and Trayvon Martin’s mother, Sybrina Fulton, greeted her.
