Miami Dolphins Travel To Bahamas, Haiti & Cuba For Hurricane Matthew Relief

The Dolphins continue their commitment to Hurricane Matthew relief efforts in the Islands of The Bahamas, Haiti, and Cuba.

The Miami Dolphins continue their commitment to Hurricane Matthew relief efforts with members of the organization traveling to the Islands of The Bahamas and Haiti to provide much-needed support to those communities impacted by the storm. In addition, the Dolphins are making a financial contribution to The Miami Foundation that will be earmarked for relief efforts in Cuba.

On Wednesday, Oct. 26, the Dolphins will present a $20,000 check to The Miami Foundation Give2Cuba Fund with proceeds directed towards those impacted by the widespread devastation in Cuba.

On Thursday, Oct. 27, Dolphins player Michael Thomas, President & CEO Tom Garfinkel, Senior Vice Presidents Nat Moore and Jason Jenkins, alumnus Dwight Stephenson and staff will fly to The Bahamas with the help of Wheels Up to deliver building supplies to Freeport, meet with local officials and visit some of the impacted areas. Hunt Construction, Thermoset Roofing and Waterproofing Systems, Crown Corr, Ion Electric, KHS&S, Kirlin Florida, Southeast Mechanical and MIK Construction Group all donated the building supplies for these efforts, with Seacor Island Lines providing free shipping of the materials to The Bahamas.

Miami Dolphins Cheerleader Amina

On Friday, Oct. 28, current player Terrence Fede  and cheerleader Amina, both of Haitian descent, along with Moore, Jenkins and Dolphins staff will fly to Haiti to deliver medical supplies, safe water solutions and generators to help rebuild homes.

The visit is arranged in conjunction with the City of North Miami and the North Miami Police Department. Throughout the month of October, the Dolphins have worked closely with community partners, staff and fans to pack hygiene kits with Project Medishare with assistance from Publix that will be delivered during the visit. Additionally, the Dolphins have partnered with Surge for Water to provide short- and long-term solutions such as water purification tablets as well as household and community water filters.

The Dolphins also will equip a new mobile resource unit with a water filtration system that will travel to the most heavily impacted areas including Southwest Haiti.

Thursday, Oct. 27 – Travel to Freeport, unload ship, and visit with local officials and tour area
Friday, Oct. 28 – Travel to Port-au-Prince, distribute relief supplies and visit with local officials
