Engra (Ingrate): The song “Engra” depicts a story that is not uncommon in the Haitian community. There are a lot of Haitians living abroad looking for better opportunities for themselves and their families. Sometimes, the promised land renders it particularly difficult to support our extended families, thus we are unable to provide for those who live in Haiti. It’s not uncommon for us to be called “Engra” (Ingrate (s)). Through this song, our families back home will be afforded a new perspective, or reality if you will.
