It was a great weekend in sports for Haitian American NFL football players Sony Michel, Josh Gordon and college Florida State University baller Deondre Francois

247sports.com reports, at the 13:43 mark in the fourth quarter of a New England Patriots, Miami Dolphins Sunday, Haitian Ameican running back Sony Michel tasted an NFL end zone for the first time in his professional career.

Michel took the toss from Tom Brady and was able to scamper for 10-yards and put the Patriots up, 38-0. Michel is the first Patriots rookie to rush for 100 yards since Brandon Bolden did it exactly six years ago today.

The Patriots drafted Michel in the first round (No. 31 overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft out of Georgia. The running back missed all of the preseason and the majority of training camp due to a knee injury where he underwent a procedure to drain fluid. That injury also kept him out in Week 1 but was able to make his debut in Week 2 against the Jaguars.

In more Haitian American Patriots news, ESPN reports,

Wide receiver Josh Gordon addressed reporters Sunday for the first time since he was traded to the New England Patriots two weeks ago, vowing to make the most of his fresh start after having been with the Cleveland Browns since 2012.

“I have no doubt I can take advantage of this opportunity,” he said after the Patriots’ 38-7 victory over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, in which he made his debut with the team.

“I’m more than blessed and extremely grateful to be put in this scenario, and the only thing right for me to do is take full advantage of it. I’m loving it, the guys here are great. It’s a real home environment and I feel as comfortable as ever here.”

Gordon played 18 offensive snaps against Miami, caught two passes on two targets for 32 yards, drew an illegal contact penalty that moved the chains on third-and-7 and delivered a key open-field block on a 22-yard touchdown run by James White.
