Haitian Hurdler Vanessa Clerveaux Wins 100m Silver Medal at CAC Games

Haiti just added a silver medal to its tally at the Central American and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla, Colombia as Vanessa Clerveaux secured silver in the women’s 100-meter hurdles last night.

On Monday Clerveaux she won the qualifying heat with a lifetime personal record of 13.05 seconds and qualified for Tuesday night where she ran and placed second with a time of 13.07 seconds. Costa Rica won gold & Jamaica won bronze.

This was Clerveaux first official international championship running for Haiti.

Clerveaux is Brockton, Massachusetts born and recently qualified for the IAAF Indoor Track & Field World Championships March 2018 in Birmingham, Great Britain and headed to next Olympics Summer 2020 in Tokyo, Japan.

Out of Brockton High School, Clerveaux competed her freshmen year at Eastern Michigan University and transferred to The University of Alabama for a more competitive track experience. She received SEC Championship & NCAA honors in the 60m hurdles, 100m hurdles, and the 4x100m relay!

She graduated with a degree in Human Environmental Sciences, General Studies (Consumer Sciences) and recently moved to the Miami to train and pursue her professional track and field dreams.
