Obviously the Red Cross had to issue a statemenmt, not only to cover their embarrasing incompetence but also in a desperate effort to convince the donors that they actually helped Haitians. But of course money was indeed wasted and mismanaged and almost nothing was done.
It is a bold face lie when they claim land was not available. Outside the capital just few miles away from the rubbles there are until now tens of thousands of easily obtainable acres of land. It is easy to shift blame on unrest that is of course an excuse and change in government. The best way to challenge a story is to come up with verifiable facts. The Red cross in their response could not provide a single photograph of anything in terms of construction of new homes or hospitals they claimed to build.
Show us some hard facts of your accomp[lishment in Haiti with the nearly $ 500 million of donated money you had avaible to justify to your organization, then you can justify your claims. Showing the frustrated public evidence of your accomplishment is the best way to convince. I'm Haitian American, my heart is bleeding for those quaque victims and all the Haitian people you could have helped but you failed them. If you trully want to challenge the story go back to Haiti and do more. It is not too late. You have more money available.
