Now this is what going back home and making a difference looks like.

On Monday Haitian-American Washington Redskins football player Pierre Garcon made a donation of $10,000 in scholarships to students at his alma mater John I Leonard high school.

WPTV reports,

Four Palm Beach County students were surprised Monday afternoon with college scholarships and were even more surprised by who presented them.

Washington Redskins wide receiver, and John I Leonard graduate Pierre Garçon delivered each of the honor roll students a $2,500 scholarship.

“It’s always something that you dream about doing. Like when I make it to the NFL, I want to come back and help my school and to actually do it is like winning a game, crossing off one of the life goals you wanted to accomplish and I’m happy that I can do it and I’m happy they’re happy that they’re doing well in school and celebrating them doing well in school,” Garçon  said.

“I’m in shock. I’m very, very shocked. And I’m very thankful and I feel so blessed. For somebody to think about me and choose me out of all people, it feels good,” said scholarship recipient Frankeria Henderson.

The four graduating seniors were selected for demonstrating growth and improvement both academically and socially.
