NFL Reinstates Haitian-American Josh Gordon After Year Long Suspension

Welcome Back Josh!

After a year-long suspension, Haitian-American Josh Gordon will be making his way back to the field after a suspension that has kept the Cleveland Browns receiver out of football since 2014.

The NFL announced Gordon’s reinstatement Monday, saying he will be suspended for the first four games of the regular season. He will be allowed to join the Browns at their training camp, which starts Thursday, and can participate in all team meetings and activities.

The 25-year-old pass-catcher met with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell last Wednesday after failing yet another drug test in March. He was slated to apply for reinstatement on Aug. 1, but Goodell chose to speed up the process. Gordon was initially suspended in February 2015 for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse. The league also announced that Gordon will be eligible to play in all of Cleveland’s preseason games once his clinical resources in Cleveland are confirmed. He will be eligible to return from his four-game suspension on Oct. 3.

Before his  trouble with the league began, the Haitian-American athlete emerged as one of the NFL’s top receivers in his Pro Bowl 2013 season.
