I have a thing for African prints and just love how Haitian-Italian designer Stella Jean uses the traditional prints to jazz up these pieces. The former model who was raised in Italy, uses her brand to help develop Haiti. She works together with the Haitian Embassy in Italy with their”fashion-ABLE Haiti” campaign, creating sustainable jobs for Haitian artisans and craftsman and arming them with Italian high fashion design technology. She mixes her prints in the most feminine and fun ways, inspired by her Creole heritage and upbringing in Rome. Retro-inspired shapes make Jean’s pieces all the more alluring, transporting us all back to a time when getting dressed up was de rigueur.
Her Fall 2012 collection is full of must haves for the woman who loves to go bold.
