BAPE and KidSuper Celebrate the 2026 World Cup With a Special Haiti-Inspired Sneaker

As excitement continues to build around the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Japanese streetwear giant BAPE (A Bathing Ape) has partnered with Brooklyn-based designer Colm Dillane, founder of KidSuper, to launch one of the most ambitious football-inspired fashion collections to date.

Dubbed the “SuperBape Cup,” the collection features 48 unique BAPE STA colorways, with each sneaker representing one of the nations competing in the expanded 2026 FIFA World Cup tournament.

The release stays true to the iconic BAPE STA silhouette, known for its bold shape and signature star design. Each pair features glossy patent leather uppers inspired by the colors of a participating nation’s flag, along with country abbreviations embossed on the heel, BAPE branding throughout, and KidSuper’s recognizable eye logo incorporated into the design.

Unlike many World Cup-inspired collaborations that focus primarily on football powerhouses and major markets, BAPE and KidSuper took a different approach. Every qualified nation received its own dedicated sneaker, creating a collection that celebrates representation, diversity, and the global spirit of the game.

While ten of the most anticipated colorways—including the United States, Brazil, Argentina, England, France, Spain, Portugal, Mexico, Japan, and Ghana—received a wider release on June 11, the remaining country editions are available through preorder, ensuring every nation receives equal recognition.

Adding an emotional and cultural layer to the campaign, grandmothers from each represented country were featured as models, bringing authenticity and a sense of community to the project. The campaign serves as a reminder that football is about more than competition; it is about family, heritage, and national pride.

For Haitians around the world, however, one sneaker stands out above the rest.

The Haiti edition proudly showcases the country’s iconic blue and red colors, reflecting the energy, resilience, and passion that have long defined the Haitian people. The release arrives at a particularly meaningful moment as Haiti prepares to return to the FIFA World Cup stage for the first time in decades, reigniting excitement throughout the country and across the diaspora.

The Haiti colorway gained even more attention after Haitian-American singer and rapper Fridayy was spotted wearing the sneaker, generating excitement online and among football fans eager to support Les Grenadiers on their historic journey.

More than just another limited-edition sneaker, the Haiti BAPE STA represents a celebration of culture, identity, and a new generation of Haitian pride. As the countdown to the 2026 FIFA World Cup continues, collaborations like the SuperBape Cup are helping showcase the countries, communities, and stories that make football the world’s most beloved sport.

For Haiti, it’s another reminder that the world is watching—and that Haitian culture continues to make its mark both on and off the field.
