Haiti Lacrosse Makes Historic Rise and Prepares for Major 2026 Tournaments

Did You Know Haiti Has a National Lacrosse Team?

Haiti Lacrosse is preparing for a landmark year of international competition as the program continues its remarkable rise on the global stage.
In the summer of 2025, the Haitian national team made its historic international debut at the COPA 506 International Tournament in Costa Rica. Competing for the first time, Haiti delivered an impressive performance, finishing with a 4-1 record and capturing the championship title by defeating the #21-ranked Peru team in the final.
This breakthrough victory marked a major milestone for the program, which was officially recognized as the 55th member of World Lacrosse.
Big Plans for 2026
Building on that momentum, Haiti Lacrosse is now gearing up for three major international tournaments this year:

Heritage Cup at Rider University, New Jersey, USA — May 22–25, 2026
PALA World Championship in Jamaica — August 16–23, 2026
Pan-American Sixes Championship in Oshawa, Canada — September 29–October 4, 2026

Two of these events will serve as qualifiers for the Pan-American Lacrosse Association (PALA), while the Pan-American Sixes Championship in Canada is part of the official Olympic qualifying pathway for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, where lacrosse will return to the Olympic program.
The team is currently fundraising to cover essential costs including travel, accommodations, competition fees, and equipment for these upcoming events. Supporters can contribute through Haiti Lacrosse’s official GoFundMe campaign.

A Growing Movement
The rapid development of Haiti Lacrosse highlights the growing presence of the sport across the Caribbean and Latin America. The team continues to develop talent — including Haitian-American players — while proudly representing Haitian resilience, determination, and excellence on the international stage.
As they prepare for this pivotal year, Haiti Lacrosse is more than just a team — it is a symbol of national pride and possibility for the Haitian diaspora and the next generation of Haitian athletes.
