ZED Airlines Launches New Direct Flight from Cap-Haïtien to Miami

ZED Airlines successfully inaugurated its new direct flight service between Cap-Haïtien and Miami on Friday, May 22, 2026, opening an important new travel connection between northern Haiti and South Florida.

The launch ceremony took place in the Diplomatic Lounge at Cap-Haïtien International Airport, coinciding with the departure of the airline’s first commercial flight on the route.

During the event, ZED Airlines CEO Davide Jean Charles (also known as David Jn Charles) highlighted the company’s vision:

“We want to connect Haiti to the world. Air transport is not just a service; it’s a bridge. It is from this conviction that ZED Airlines was born, with a clear vision: to build a strong and credible Haitian airline.”

The ceremony was attended by several senior Haitian government officials, including:

  • Minister of Commerce and Industry James Monazard
  • Minister of Justice and Public Security Patrick Pélissier
  • Minister of Public Works, Transport and Communications Joseph Almathe Pierre Louis
  • Director General of the National Aviation Authority José Bernard Mathas Schettini

Officials praised the initiative and pledged full government support for the new Haitian carrier.

Based in Delmas, Port-au-Prince, ZED Airlines aims to offer reliable and affordable air travel options linking Haiti with its diaspora communities. The airline previously operated routes to Brazil and is now expanding its network in North America.

This new direct route is expected to greatly benefit travelers in northern Haiti and further strengthen connections with South Florida’s large Haitian community.
