Elcana Jean-Pierre is a Haitian-born student with Cerebral Palsy. She migrated from Haiti to Miami on a boat, not without hardships: her family was intercepted by the coast guard and they stayed at the Guantanamo Bay Naval Base for 2 years.… Finally in Miami, Elcana struggled with bullying throughout school… but she had her eyes set on a career in social work.
