Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has officially proclaimed June 2026 as “Faith and Family Month,” a statewide initiative aimed at recognizing the importance of faith, family relationships, and the role fathers and father figures play in strengthening communities.
The proclamation encourages residents, faith-based organizations, businesses, schools, and community groups across Florida to participate in activities that promote family unity, celebrate fathers, and reinforce the values that contribute to strong and healthy communities.
According to the Governor’s office, the initiative highlights the significance of faith as a guiding force for many individuals and families while recognizing the family unit as a foundational institution that helps shape future generations. The proclamation emphasizes the importance of nurturing relationships between spouses, parents and children, grandparents, and extended family members.
Throughout the month, communities are encouraged to host events, educational programs, volunteer initiatives, family gatherings, and other activities designed to foster connection and support among Florida families.
The designation also coincides with Father’s Day celebrations, placing additional focus on the impact fathers and father figures have in the lives of children. Supporters of the initiative say it provides an opportunity to recognize the contributions of parents, mentors, and community leaders who help guide and inspire younger generations.
Faith and Family Month reflects a broader effort to encourage values such as service, responsibility, compassion, and community engagement. Organizers hope the observance will inspire Floridians to strengthen family bonds, support one another, and invest in the well-being of their local communities.
As June unfolds, residents across the state will have the opportunity to participate in events and conversations centered on faith, family, and the importance of building strong support systems for future generations.
