The Kansas City Chiefs continue to add depth and potential to their roster, announcing Sunday the signing of former University of Miami linebacker Wesley Bissainthe as an undrafted free agent.
A 6-foot-1, 230-pound Miami native of Haitian descent, Bissainthe brings a strong combination of experience, production, and relentless energy to Kansas City. Over four seasons with the Hurricanes (2022–2025), he appeared in 54 games with 41 starts, recording 204 total tackles (121 solo), 14.5 tackles for loss, 5.0 sacks, two interceptions, and one forced fumble.
Bissainthe capped off his senior season with 71 tackles (39 solo), along with a sack, a forced fumble, and a standout 32-yard interception return. His performance earned him Third-Team All-ACC honors and helped anchor a Miami defense that saw major improvement and postseason success.
Before his collegiate career, Bissainthe made a name for himself at Miami Central High School, where he played a key role in leading the Rockets to back-to-back Florida state championships in 2019 and 2020. A highly regarded four-star recruit, he chose to stay home and represent Miami despite receiving offers from top programs across the country.
Known for his instincts, consistent tackling, and leadership on and off the field, Bissainthe has earned respect for his disciplined, blue-collar approach to the game. He has also proudly embraced his Haitian heritage, often speaking about how his background and South Florida upbringing shaped his mindset and work ethic.
Although he was not selected in the 2026 NFL Draft, Bissainthe was widely viewed as one of the top undrafted linebacker prospects available. The Chiefs, an organization known for uncovering hidden talent in the undrafted market, moved quickly to secure him.
He now joins a competitive linebacker unit in Kansas City, where he will battle for a roster spot throughout training camp and the preseason. Bissainthe is expected to report for rookie minicamp as he begins his professional journey, with a strong opportunity to earn a place on the 53-man roster or practice squad.
For Bissainthe, this signing marks the beginning of the next chapter, one fueled by resilience, opportunity, and pride in representing both his city and his Haitian roots on the NFL stage.
