Did you know that the first black woman ever to reach the top five finalists position in the Miss Universe pageant was Haitian?

Her name is Evelyn Miot (born c. 1940), Miss Haiti Universe and she was the first black woman to reach the top fifteen finalists position

Miss Haiti, Evelyn Miot, was a semi-finalist in the Miss Universe 1962 pageant which was won by Argentine Norma Nolan.  That was the very first time that Haiti sent a delegate to the Miss Universe beauty contest.
