Haiti Polo Team defeated the home team in Brisbane, Australia, 25 November (local time). Tied at 3-all, the match went into a penalty shootout, and Haiti Polo Team prevailed over Team Brisbane. Team captain Claude-Alix Bertrand, with teammates Johann du Preez, Ric McCarthy, and Andrew Fraser-Scott, celebrated on the sidelines with fans, beers and the Haitian flag.
Captain Bertrand, who scored the first goal for Haiti Polo Team, was emotional in post-match interviews. After a difficult loss last week, the win boosts Haiti Polo Team back into contention for the title. The team advances to Melbourne next week. The series picks up again 2 December in Melbourne, which is the third weekend of the five-week Urban Polo Series organized by the Urban Polo Association.
