The Los Angeles Chargers continue to add promising young talent, signing Haitian-American running back Gregory Desrosiers Jr. as an undrafted free agent following the 2026 NFL Draft.
Born in Lawrence and proudly representing both Haitian and Dominican roots, Desrosiers brings versatility, production, and strong character to the Chargers organization. Known for his strong Christian faith and disciplined mindset, he has built a reputation as a dependable and hardworking contributor throughout his college career.
Desrosiers now joins fellow Haitian standout Akheem Mesidor, who was selected in the first round (No. 22 overall) out of the University of Miami. Together, the two form an exciting Haitian presence on the Chargers roster heading into the new NFL season.
Desrosiers began his collegiate career at the University of Massachusetts, where he quickly showcased his versatility as both a running back and return specialist. During the 2023 season, he appeared in 11 games, rushing for 301 yards on 37 carries with four touchdowns, while adding 185 receiving yards on 15 catches and two scores. His impact on special teams earned him All-Independent honors as a returner.
Seeking a new opportunity, he transferred to the University of Memphis in 2024, where he elevated his game over his final two seasons. In his senior year, Desrosiers recorded 563 rushing yards on 99 carries with seven touchdowns, along with 32 receptions for 228 yards and one touchdown, totaling 791 all-purpose yards.
At 5-foot-11 and 200 pounds, Desrosiers impressed NFL scouts with his vision, pass-catching ability, and versatility in the return game. He earned a top-30 pre-draft visit with the Chargers, signaling strong interest from the organization even before the draft.
Although he went undrafted, Los Angeles moved quickly to secure him as a free agent, recognizing his potential to contribute as a depth running back and special teams asset.
Desrosiers is expected to report to training camp in late July, where he will compete for a spot on the 53-man roster or practice squad. His all-around skill set, combined with his work ethic and experience on special teams, gives him a realistic path to carving out a role at the professional level.
For the Haitian community, this moment carries added significance. With both Desrosiers and Mesidor representing on the same NFL roster, it highlights the continued rise and impact of Haitian talent on the global stage.
As he begins this next chapter, Gregory Desrosiers Jr. steps into the NFL with determination, pride, and an opportunity to turn his dream into reality.
