Snapshots: 2012 Olympic Games – Opening Ceremony- Team Haiti

Haiti is scheduled to compete at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, United Kingdom, Europe. There will be a total of five athletes representing Haiti at the Olympics. Moise Joseph (800m of the Men’s Track & Road Event), Jeffrey Julmis (100m of the Men’s Track & Road Event), Samyr Laine (Triple Jump of the Field Events), Marlena Wesh (200m & 400m of the Women’s Track & Road Events), and Linouse Desravine (Women’s -52kg Judo).

Moïse Joseph is a Haitian middle-distance runner who specializes in the 800 meters. He is ranked Top30 worldwide in the 800 meter run. He went to college at the University of Florida where he ran for the Gators. He has took part in several competitions around the world including the the Pan American Games, World Championships, 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, 2010 CONCAC Games in Mayaguez in which he placed 2nd and won the silver medal. He has also won a silver medal at the CACAC Championships in 2011 and a bronze medal at the CACAC Championships in 2005. He is part of the Haitian Olympic Team taking part in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
